John F. McNeely Residential Design has been bringing technical experience and design aesthetics together for over 25 years, primarily in the South Coast residential communities of Orange County, California but also further abroad.

Every project brings its own unique character, derived from the wishes of the client and our drive to integrate the architectural aesthetics, flowing and functional space planning, structural integrity, and practical building methods that optimize any budget, all into a wonderful design solution.

Residential design is a unique process, driven by personalities and desires for the best in conceptual design while respecting so many other practical constraints. Our years of real-world design experience will be used to refine your wishes into a design that balances the design pillars of beauty, strength, and usefulness.

We have spent time in the residential building field, and we get along well with builders – we produce plans that can be built and thus receive many referrals from builders. We have developed a roster of external consultants -engineers, geologists, energy- that also have a practical and builder-friendly focus, to help your project become a reality without needless complication. We also have working relationships and experience with some of the most difficult city jurisdictions in our area.
